Open Orbit makes change easier, faster, and simpler by using technology innovation to augment human judgement and drive business improvement. The company is led and managed by process design and improvement practitioners with expertise in strategy, operations management and technology.
Open Orbit is based in Sydney, Australia, with teams in North America and India.
Meet the Team

Niranjan Deodhar
Director (Founder)
Niranjan founded Open Orbit with a vision to make the science and art of process improvement accessible and affordable to anyone in any organization.
The combination of a diagnostic style workbench with a context-sensitive knowledge base of process improvement (PI) insights, was conceived from Niranjan’s experience of Lean Six Sigma and what drives sustainable process change.
With Open Orbit, he has brought together this knowledge with his insights in technology to create and build a new platform for executives, managers and workers looking for practical methods and techniques in process improvement.
Niranjan brings extensive experience in senior roles and has worked on building new business, creating consulting capabilities and implementing change programs in a variety of cultural and geographic contexts, including in Australia, India and the Silicon Valley, US.

In his previous role he led major client relationships and new business growth in Australia and New Zealand as Vice President for Genpact. As India Hiring Leader, he drove the fastest growth to date in Genpact staff count, with over 10,000 new recruits joining Genpact in that year in India. As Quality and Six Sigma Leader Genpact he drove timeliness and efficiency in talent supply, Finance, HR and Infrastructure.
Prior to Genpact, Niranjan worked with IBM Business Consulting Services and PwC Consulting in Sydney, where he held a range of roles across Business Consulting, Program Management, IT Implementation and Business Development with clients in Telecommunications, Travel and Transport, Automotive, Industrial and Technology.
Prior to this career in IT and Consulting, he worked for Siemens and DCM Data Products in India in the Industrial Automation divisions, handling engineering, solutioning and business development roles.
Niranjan holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Vinita Deodhar
Chief Product Officer & Consulting Principal
Vinita is a seasoned senior executive with deep experience in leading change and enhancing enterprise performance in complex environments.
Prior to joining Open Orbit in August 2021, Vinita served as Executive Director with NSW Government, mainly with NSW Treasury. Her government experience also spans Education, Environment, Climate Change and Water, and Investment NSW. A well-rounded leader, Vinita brings expertise from across public and private sectors covering strategy, governance, general management, budgeting, public policy, applied economics, marketing, and advertising.

At NSW Treasury, Vinita led NSW Government transformation to a more outcome-focused culture – embedding citizen and customer outcomes at the centre of strategic planning, resource allocation, and delivery. She cast the vision for these reforms, built change momentum and helped operationalise them across the sector. Through the pandemic, she led the rapid start-up and scale-up of Skilling for Recovery/Job Trainer in 2020, a key economic recovery initiative of NSW and Australian Governments.
Vinita holds non-executive positions on boards and is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business, Western Sydney University.
She has a PhD in Economics from Macquarie University Sydney and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
As Chief Product Officer for Open Orbit, Vinita is responsible for the strategic product direction including Open Orbit’s product vision, product innovation, design and development. She combines a strong product sensibility with commercial expertise and data-driven insights to create the best possible experience for customers while serving the overall vision of Open Orbit.

Erin Warnock
Customer Success Engineer
Erin has extensive experience in customer service, process improvement and training and staff development. She has developed these skills throughout her career, including over 10 years with one of Australia’s top financial services providers.
She worked on all aspects of projects, including data analysis, root cause analysis, identifying solutions, building business cases, reviewing and sign off of business requirements documents and technical specification documents, multiple levels of testing, change communications and training.
As a Customer Success Engineer, Erin is responsible for onboarding new users, supporting and mentoring users with their projects and quasi-consulting activities such as Rapid Assessments.

Rohini Sabnani
Domain Consultant
Rohini is a seasoned expert in Customer Service, Telecom, Process Excellence and IT enabled services. She has expertise in planning, transitioning and ‘create, build, operate and transfer’ projects. She has held leadership positions in organizations handling large enterprise accounts.
In her career of 17 years she has worked with the pioneers in mobile telephony – Modi Telstra and Airtel ; and in IT enabled services – Intelenet Global Services. She has worked for marquee clients like Vodafone, e Bookers, Lumo, Transunion, Equifax to name a few. Rohini has a strong track record of managing and transitioning large operations of 1000+ people, implementing best practices in processes, and delivering to ambitious goals with regard to Quality and Service Levels.
Over the past 8 years, she has further leveraged her experience of managing contact centers and process re-engineering by using COPC standards and Six Sigma methodology.
Rohini holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Calcutta University.
Lean Startup Internships at Open Orbit
In 2022 Open Orbit introduced an Internship Program in partnership with the School of Business, Western Sydney University.
We provide a unique opportunity to business students to experience the lean start-up approach as part of their master’s degree program. Open Orbit tailors every internship experience to match a student’s skills and goals.
Interns gain hand-on experience on business process design and our technology platform while working on client projects to streamline operations.
For the duration of their internship, students become part of the Open Orbit team and experience our focus on testing our vision continuously, learning what the customers really want, and adapting and adjusting our products and mental models.
Our interns come from diverse geographies and enrich the culture of Open Orbit. We learn from each other, support each other, and have fun along the way.
The Internship Program reflects our commitment to supporting global students build skills of the future and get a feel for what innovation and technology adoption looks like.
